Indon Maid?
|
|
Can anyone advise me what is the difference between the maids from central, west and east Java. I have just selected a 30 yr old maid from the west region. Married with 2 kids and ex Malaysia many years ago.
With so many people fighting for the rights of the maids and also M1's new business venture with the Philipine telecom to target on the Filipino working in Singapore, think better to leave them alone.
Although new maid starting only next year cos I am going to take a holiday first, her contract state $260 plus $20 compensation for no off day. Is it legal in this way with the new rule?

I oso not much idea abt maids from West Java, I only heard East Java girls are hardworking, Sudaneese very hiao. The only thing everyone know is - they are all very poor. But urs has m'sia experience, why she stop for many years? Any particular reason, can you check her record exp. in M'sia? Anyone got any idea?
With the chaos of all the reports by %*#@ organisation, is it wise to let maid call back their country? I think better not? How ah?

my personal experience would be.the older they are,the more stubborn they are as they think they are older,WE must listen to them..

Re: Indon Maid?

yes it is true, the older they are, the more they tend to be stubborn. But as for the younger ones, they tend to be mischevious and flirty. It all depends on one self, whether the attitude is good or bad.
Quality of maids nowadays are going down the drain....

Re: Indon Maid?

Just today I saw 2 indon maids taking bus going out together. One of them take care of 1 pri. sch n 1 kindergarten kids, the other take care of 1 pri. sch n kindergarten kids. Can't be that coincidence that both employers go on holiday or already letting them go on off days?
If maids goes out without knowledge of employers and leave the kids at home, I think they are just too bold coz' the reports was just out last week, and it is not even endorsed.
If the employers let them goes out, then I feel they are just too submissive! Maybe we Singaporean dun know our rights due to our autocratic environment?

Why did you choose a maid so 'old'? V difficult to control these 'old bird', esp (1) they r married with kids AND (2) if they've working exp in other c'tries.
Many yrs back I employed 1 33 yrs single who have worked in M'sia. After 1st week, start to turn on TV, read newspaper, sing songs, etc like she's at her own home. In her 2nd week she asked for transfer, saying she didn't want to take care of children. She said her life in M'sia very good cos she took care of an elderly couple who were strong & active. She didn't have so much to do then. She wished to have back that kind of worklife in S'pore. So I took her back to the agency & ask her to go fly kite.

The few young maids I employ give me a lot of headache. My last filipina is in her mid 30 and prove to be ok workwise. Unfortunately her cousin's employer got her a job so ...Hopefully with this one, she know how to handle housework. Previously take a week to teach the young ones how to open and close window. Really vomit blood. This time with a 30 plus indon, hopefully can do work and no more busybody cousin.

Those young maid under 23yrs that I employed before proved to be unable to work, maybe I not so heng. Without supervision, they just laze around or zz too when I give my children nap or zz, even after countless teachings, still they expect me to finish up their unfinished chores. I already have 2 young kids to take care of, so I dun want another kid in my house.
Those in mid or late 20's are more matured, not so childish and more able to digest what I teach. I find those with domestic work experience is not as lazy and after familiarized with the work, they know what to do. Those with experience in M'sia is good provided the environment they worked is the same as yours. 2-3 yrs experience is just nice, more than that then lao jiao liao, too stubborn liao, hard to handle. Those with experience in their own country (e.g. Indonesia or Philippines) is better coz the employer there are high and mighty, and maid shd obey and pay due respect to them.
It all depends on heng suay oso, tikam tikam, I will oso ask my maid to go fly kite if she does not do her work and starts day dreaming. Sometimes their previous work experience is not so nice but they painted a very nice picture to you hoping you will let her live the life "she wanted". I always answer this kind of remarks by asking the maid, why did she left the employment if the environment is so good? Why her employ dismiss her if she does her job properly?

I have always wanted to employ someone in the mid 20s but most of them lied about their age. They are usually a few years younger than what is stated in the bio. That is why this time selected someone 30 yrs old. If same trend apply, she should be in their late 20s .
Employing a maid is really tikam tikam. Even bio cannot be trusted. Every thing in the bio cannot be trusted. If you look closly, most of the bio are the same and fill by the same person (hand writing). The maid only sign and wonder if they check what is being filled or just sign blindly. The only thing that is real is the photo and even that can be quite misleading. Most of them are already given a makeover by the agency esp the indon. They got the same hair cut and clothing. So very difficult to judge their personality. Unlike the filipina who send in their old photo. Short of being a fortune teller who can judge a person by the face features, it is really tikam tikam.

Hey, you are right! those indon in 20s are mostly a few yrs younger, but those stated 28 29 are mostly a few yrs older. Those stated 30s maybe then 40s liao. They are just a bunch of liars.

I always wonder why the indonesian iron during the day and the filipina in the nite just before they go to bed. Thought they are just slower than the indon counterpart and will take a longer time to finish their work.

Its true filipina like to do ironing at night and they are quite slow in doing it! My ex-filipina also does ironing day & night!!! Is it because it's their practice nationwide? I instruct my maid to do twice a week during afternoons because there is nothing much for her to do after lunch. But she still does ironing for 1-2 hrs everyday although it is only my husband's working clothes to iron beautifully. The rest e.g children clothes t-shirt just fold can liao!

maybe the floor mat thingy is their old beliefs loh.... no harm letting them do it since it doesn't really cost much pain right? My maid dun need to use the mat though...

Re: Indon Maid?

actually I had a filipino telling me the same thing too.I only get to find out about this when my gal who share the same room with her complained of her smell. And yes,she smelled till the extend that you would know which day she washed the car.And you will know she is approaching you a room away.Yes,I m not kidding. My gal told me she doesnt bath..and I was surprised cos I thought personal hygience problem shouldnt be on filipino..but then I found out she really never bath for days. When I told the agent, she complained to her that I want her to do ironing before sleep, therefore she couldnt bath after ironing cos they believed, their body is hot after ironing so when they bath, they would burst their blood vessel... I was like...urgh...I m still alive after countless times of taking bath after sweating..
